On the evening of December 12, the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) held a special ceremony to swear in newly elected and re-elected trustees. Superintendent Monika Hazel administered the oath of office to Maria G. Moran (Trustee Area 4) and Lief Hansen (Trustee Area 2), along with returning board members Ricardo Favela (Trustee Area 3) and Frank Golbeck (Trustee Area 1).
Following the swearing-in ceremony, the board held its annual organizational meeting to nominate and vote on officers for the 2025 school year. Mary McBride was elected President of the Governing Board, with Lief Hansen as Vice President and Maria G. Moran as Clerk.
After the formal proceedings, family, friends, and staff joined in a warm and celebratory reception. FUESD welcomed the new and returning trustees with cake and cookies, creating a relaxed environment for introductions and connection. Staff members had the opportunity to meet the board members, share who they are, and explain their roles within the district. It was a wonderful way to foster relationships and build a shared vision for the future.
Superintendent Hazel captured the significance of the evening, saying, “This is a significant moment for our district, as we welcome these individuals who will guide and shape the future of education in our community.”
Congratulations to the newly appointed officers and trustees! FUESD extends heartfelt gratitude to all board members for their dedication and service to the district and the Fallbrook community. Their commitment to fostering a vibrant and supportive educational environment ensures a brighter future for local students.
