FUESD Schools Host Back-to-School Nights, Welcoming Families and Fostering Community

San Onofre School’s Mrs. Coulter Meeting with Students and Families

This week, several schools in the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) kicked off the new academic year by warmly welcoming families at their Back-to-School Night events. Live Oak Elementary, La Paloma Elementary, Maie Ellis Elementary, San Onofre School, and Mary Fay Pendleton School opened their doors for an evening filled with connection, collaboration, and a shared commitment to supporting student success.

Back-to-School Night provided an invaluable opportunity for families to meet their children’s teachers, explore classrooms, and tour the school campuses. In addition, families were able to meet with school administrators, gaining insights into the educational goals and initiatives for the upcoming school year.

These events are pivotal in fostering a culture of community within FUESD. By facilitating open communication and engagement between educators, administrators, and families, Back-to-School Night sets the tone for a collaborative and supportive school year.

“We are thrilled with the turnout and the enthusiastic participation of our families at these Back-to-School Nights,” said Seth Trench, Director of Communications at FUESD. “This event is more than just an opportunity to meet teachers; it’s a chance for our families to become active participants in their children’s education, to build relationships, and to feel connected to our school community.”

Next week, the momentum continues as Potter Junior High, Mary Fay Pendleton, and Fallbrook STEM Academy will host their own Back-to-School Night events. These upcoming events will continue to emphasize the importance of family engagement in student success and the role of strong school-community ties in creating a positive educational environment.

FUESD is committed to ensuring that every student and family feels welcomed, supported, and valued as we kick off the new school year. We look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence in education and fostering a sense of belonging for all members of our school community.
