The stands were packed, the sun was shining, and the spirit of friendly competition filled the air on Saturday as the 52nd Annual Don Dornon Games took over the track at Fallbrook High School. A cornerstone of the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District’s traditions, this beloved event brought together 4th, 5th, and 6th grade student-athletes from across the district for a day of excitement, energy, and sportsmanship.
Students competed in a variety of track and field events—from sprints to the long jump—putting their skills, determination, and teamwork on full display. Each event highlighted not only athletic talent, but also the resilience and camaraderie that define the students of FUESD. High-fives, laughter, and encouragement echoed throughout the stadium, creating an uplifting atmosphere that celebrated effort and unity.
Each year, the Don Dornon Games serve as an important community event for Fallbrook. It brings together families, students, and neighbors from all around the area in a vibrant celebration of school spirit, teamwork, and local pride. More than just a track meet, the Games are a time-honored tradition that reinforces the values of connection, perseverance, and shared support for our schools and youth.
This year’s event also saw overwhelming volunteer support from the Fallbrook community. More than 106 Fallbrook High School students signed in to help—many of them former Don Dornon participants—and the event was further strengthened by tremendous support from Marine Corps volunteers, whose presence added to the sense of unity and service. From setup to finish line coordination, the efforts of volunteers ensured a smooth and memorable day for all involved.
To all of our student-athletes: congratulations. You made your schools and your community proud. The 52nd Annual Don Dornon Games were more than just a competition—they were a shining reminder of the strength, heart, and unity that define Fallbrook.

Las gradas estaban llenas, el sol brillaba y el espíritu de competencia amistosa se sentía en el aire el sábado durante la 52ª edición anual de los Juegos Don Dornon, que se llevaron a cabo en la pista de Fallbrook High School. Cada año, los Juegos Don Dornon representan un evento comunitario muy importante para Fallbrook. Reúne a familias, estudiantes y vecinos de toda la región en una vibrante celebración del espíritu escolar, el trabajo en equipo y el orgullo local. Más que una competencia atlética, los Juegos son una tradición con décadas de historia que refuerza los valores de conexión, perseverancia y apoyo mutuo a nuestras escuelas y a nuestra juventud.
Este año, el evento también contó con un apoyo abrumador por parte de voluntarios de la comunidad de Fallbrook. Más de 106 estudiantes de Fallbrook High School se registraron como voluntarios—muchos de ellos ex participantes de los Juegos Don Dornon—y el evento se vio aún más fortalecido por el tremendo apoyo de voluntarios del Cuerpo de Marines, cuya presencia contribuyó al espíritu de unidad y servicio.
