Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) proudly joined communities across the nation in celebrating the 25th annual Lights On Afterschool event. This nationwide initiative shines a light on the importance of after-school programs and their positive impact on students, families, and communities. Through a variety of STEM and art-based activities, FUESD’s after-school programs created enriching experiences for students in collaboration with the Base Program and the North County Boys & Girls Club.
At each participating school, students were engaged in hands-on activities designed to inspire creativity and critical thinking. A highlight of the event involved students exploring electrical circuits—learning how they work and even constructing their own circuits to light up small lightbulbs. This interactive experience offered a unique blend of science and discovery, empowering students to apply classroom concepts to real-world applications.
Potter Junior High School added a theatrical element to the day with a special performance by the drama class, showcasing “The Grinch” for students and staff. The celebration was made even sweeter as students enjoyed a treat from “Yogurt Palace,” rounding out the day with a fun and festive experience.
FUESD’s after-school programs provide vital support for families and foster a love for learning beyond the classroom. Lights On Afterschool underscores the district’s commitment to offering high-quality, engaging programs that prepare students for success in school and life.
