FUESD Schools Shine: La Paloma, Mary Fay Pendleton, and San Onofre Named to ERP Honor Roll!

The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District (FUESD) is proud to announce that La Paloma Elementary School, Mary Fay Pendleton School, and San Onofre School have been named to the Educational Results Partnership’s (ERP) “Honor Roll” list of California’s top-performing schools. This prestigious recognition highlights schools that have excelled in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations. The achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the students, teachers, staff, and community members who strive to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The ERP Honor Roll is now in its ninth year and celebrates public schools, school districts, and charter schools across California that have demonstrated outstanding academic performance. The recognition is based on objective data from the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) for the years 2019 through 2023. This rigorous evaluation process ensures that only schools with consistent and significant academic achievements are honored, making the recognition both credible and highly respected.

La Paloma Elementary School, Mary Fay Pendleton School, and San Onofre School are among the 1,430 schools in California to make the Honor Roll, representing approximately 17 percent of all eligible schools in the state. The Honor Roll list is an initiative of the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence, in collaboration with the California Foundation for Commerce and Education, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, California Black Chamber of Commerce, CalAsian Chamber of Commerce, San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, San Joaquin A+, and other business leaders. These organizations work together to identify and celebrate schools that demonstrate academic excellence and a commitment to closing achievement gaps.

The Honor Roll program is unique in that it bases its selections solely on objective measures of student achievement. By shining a light on successful schools and districts, ERP aims to promote best practices and encourage collaboration among educators to improve student learning outcomes. This recognition not only celebrates the success of the schools but also serves as a model for other institutions striving to achieve similar goals. The program emphasizes the importance of data-driven decision-making in education and highlights the positive impact that effective teaching strategies and school policies can have on student performance.
