Potter Junior High School is delighted to announce the success of its annual Potter Junior Awards Night, held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. This highly anticipated event celebrated the exceptional achievements of students across various disciplines, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and passion for learning in a night filled with pride and inspiration.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Most Outstanding Student Awards. Each teacher at Potter Junior High School had the honor of selecting a leading student from their classes. The criteria for these selections were determined by each teacher and could include academic performance, active participation in class, significant contributions to the class environment, and a demonstrated love for the subject matter.

During the ceremony, medals were presented by teachers from each department, symbolizing the culmination of the students’ efforts and their exceptional achievements over the academic year. This tradition of awarding one student per teacher ensures that a wide array of talents and disciplines are recognized and celebrated.

Additionally, this year’s Awards Night included a bittersweet celebration and goodbye to long-time principal Robert Huish, who is retiring after years of dedicated service to Potter Junior High School. The school community came together to honor his contributions and legacy, wishing him well as he embarks on a new chapter in his life.

Principal Dr. Alejandro Gonzalez commented, “Our Awards Night is a cherished tradition at Potter Junior High. It is an opportunity for us to shine a spotlight on our students’ outstanding accomplishments and the incredible work our teachers do in fostering a love of learning. We are immensely proud of all the students who were recognized tonight. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Robert Huish for his years of leadership and dedication. His impact on our school will be long remembered.”

The Potter Junior Awards Night not only highlights the academic success of its students but also fosters a sense of community and encouragement among the faculty and student body. It serves as an inspiration for all students to strive for excellence in their educational journey.

Potter Junior High School congratulates all the award recipients and looks forward to their continued success in future endeavors.
