Winter Break Whirlwind: School Upgrades Made Across the Community During Holiday Break

The FUESD Facilities hard at work building the new outdoor learning space at Live Oak Elementary.

During the winter break, as families enjoyed their time off, the devoted team at Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Facilities diligently worked to enhance multiple schools in our community. Their primary focus was to enrich the educational experience by creating inviting outdoor learning areas. Additionally, they were dedicated to improving safety measures to ensure a secure environment for both students and staff.

This recent winter break brought about significant transformations in several schools. Notably, William H. Frazier Elementary School, Mary Fay Pendleton School, and Live Oak Elementary underwent substantial upgrades, revealing expanded outdoor areas carefully designed to foster hands-on learning experiences amidst natural surroundings.

Fallbrook STEM Academy also received updates to aging building envelope sections, making them more resilient to weather conditions and energy-efficient. Furthermore, outdoor lighting was installed at Fallbrook STEM Academy to bolster safety during after-school pick-up times.

Bryson Bickler, Director of Facilities, expressed immense pride in the team’s accomplishments, stating, “Our team takes great pride in the improvements achieved during the winter break. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated individuals whose hard work and commitment made these enhancements possible. The newly enhanced outdoor spaces at William H. Frazier Elementary School, Mary Fay Pendleton School, and Live Oak Elementary exemplify our collective dedication to providing safe and inspiring learning environments for our students and educators.”

Amidst the flurry of upgrades, the custodial team at Fallbrook Union Elementary School District worked diligently behind the scenes, using the break to perform comprehensive deep cleaning in classrooms and facilities. Their dedication to ensuring safety and cleanliness is a cornerstone of the district’s commitment to providing a healthy learning environment.

In addition to the enhancements and deep cleaning, FUESD Schools successfully completed their annual fire inspection by the County of San Diego, receiving glowing marks for their adherence to safety protocols. The successful inspection is a testament to the collaborative efforts of staff and administrators, reflecting their proactive approach to safety measures and dedication to ensuring the well-being of everyone within the school community.

The Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Facilities team remains steadfast in its commitment to creating spaces that foster innovation, collaboration, and safety within the district.
